Research has shown that the body has cannabinoid receptors densely populated in the brain. The bodies largest organ, the skin, also has these same receptors too. That means it is possible for CBD to potentially be a therapeutic answer to a wide range of skin conditions. Combined with the increasing awareness of the importance of the endocannabinoid system for the overall human health, scientists are trying to discover the mechanisms for how CBD can potentially relieve more skin conditions. We predict that CBD might revolutionize the skincare and beauty industry as well as the entire healthcare sector.
1CBD For Inflammation And Itching
Several studies show the positive impacts of topical cannabinoids on skin inflammation. In 2006, a study was conducted with an aim of evaluating the effects of CBD on itchy skin (known as puritis in medical terms). The study involved 22 patients that had pruritus that was resistant to other therapies. The results of this study showed that 14 out of 22 patients had positive effects from using CBD, with reports of 85.4% reduction of itching after using CBD and all patients showed good tolerance to the therapy with no adverse effects.
2CBD For Dermatitis
A follow up study was conducted in 2007. This study was aimed at establishing how cannabinoid receptors affect the allergic contact dermatitis. The conclusion of this study was that the endocannabinoid system plays a protective role in contact allergy on the skin.
3CBD For Eczema
Studies looking at the effect of topical cannabinoids on eczema showed that the anti-inflammatory compounds helped reduce the severity of eczema in animal models by increasing the rate of recovery of the epidermis. So, what does that mean? Topical cannabinoids can help reduce skin water loss by helping heal the skin faster in animal models with eczema. Studies also show that topical palmitoylethanolamide, a type of cannabinoid, can help with skin itching, eczema, and allergic itching.
From these studies, it’s apparent that CBD can help in the therapeutic aid of different skin conditions. We’ve created a skincare line that soothes dry skin with pure botanicals and CBD. The CBD Anti-Aging Moisturizing Cream and CBD Anti-Aging Eye Serum are our soothing topical. Our CBD Complete Self-Care Bundle has the combo of all canna
